Bioluminescence

This past week in the library we have been learning all about "Bioluminescence" and the amazing living things that use it.  We read the book Glow by W. H. Beck and did a demonstration with glow sticks.  Students were each given a glow stick to take home and teach someone else about these amazing animals.

Battle of the Books

Congratulations to all the students who competed in our Battle of the Books battles.  All the teams worked very hard and did an excellent job!  Our awards assembly will be on Friday, March 24th beginning at 9:30am.  The top three teams will be awarded medals and our top teams will compete in a battle against our teacher team!

Thank You!

Thanks to all who supported and helped make our Book Fair such a success.  For the next couple of weeks we will be learning about the Tuskegee Airmen and other people who contributed to the freedom of our country.  We will be introducing a new book series for the students to check out that highlights these amazing groups of people.

Happy New Year!

We will be kicking off the New Year with a research challenge.  Students will have the opportunity to go on a "Research Scavenger Hunt" to test their online research skills using World Book Online and Utah's Online Library.  These great resources are available to students both at school and at home.  Links for both of these sites can be found on our library page side bar.  The research scavenger hunt worksheet can be completed and turned into the library for a prize!
