40 Book Challenge
40 Book Challenge
This year the library will be starting a new school-wide reading challenge. Each student from first to sixth grade will be challenged to read 40 books during the school year. The purpose of this challenge is to help students read a variety of genres and develop a lifelong love of reading. Our challenge will begin in September and will run through the month of April (35 weeks). This will require students to read at least one book a week, and sometimes two, in order to complete the challenge. Students can accomplish this challenge by reading at school during their independent reading time, reading during their library time, and reading daily at home (minimum of 20 minutes). As some books are longer than others, depending on the number of pages, they can be counted as two books. (Teachers will determine whether or not a single book can be counted as multiple books.)
