BOOK FAIR!

It's time for our Spring Book Fair.  Preview packets will be sent home this week for a quick look at some of the great books and savings available.  Students will have a chance to come with their classes this week and watch a preview video of the books and will come again with their classes next week .  Stop by during parent teacher conferences for "S'more fun with books".

Happy New Year!

We will be kicking off the New Year with a research challenge.  Students will have the opportunity to go on a "Research Scavenger Hunt" to test their online research skills using World Book Online and Utah's Online Library.  These great resources are available to students both at school and at home.  Links for both of these sites can be found on our library page side bar.  The research scavenger hunt worksheet can be completed and turned into the library for a prize!

Merry Christmas!

Well will be celebrating Christmas around the world this month.  Here is a sneak peak at some of the books we will be reading!

Happy "Dia de los Muertos"

This week we will be traveling to Mexico to learn about the celebration of "Dia de los Muertos" or the Day of the Dead.  This holiday is celebrated on November 1 & 2 and focuses on gatherings of family and friends who honor their loved ones who have passed on.  It is celebrated by making altars that are decorated with flowers, candles, pan de muerto, ceramic skulls, and most importantly pictures of loved ones.  People also wear beautifully decorated masks and face paint as part of the celebration.

We are so excited for our first Book Fair of the year.  We hope that you will join us!  All proceeds go support our library.  The Book Fair will be held October 11th - 14th during the following dates and times:

Tuesday: 9am-4pm
Wednesday: 9am-8pm
Thursday: 9am-8pm
Friday: 9am-2pm

Australia, here we come!

This year in the library we will be going on a world wide adventure through books.  Each month we will focus on a different country.  The month of September we will be journeying to Australia.  We will be learning about the different animals, food, and geography.  Here is a look at some of the books we will be reading in this month.

                                                 


                                 

Welcome Back!
